Toddler 2- Week 1

Hello Families,

As we continue with the stay-at-home order, we are going to continue to provide some activities for you do to do at home with your children throughout the summer. We hope that we are able to go back very soon!

Toy Wash:The first activity I would like to provide you all with is a toy wash. For this activity, you will need:

  • A bucket, large bowl, a deep tray, or any large container
  • Small/medium sized toys
  • A Sponge or a washcloth
  • Dish soap/body wash

For this activity, all you need to do is put the toys inside of the container with water and add some soap. You do not have to add water to the top of the container, just add enough so that some of the toys can be submerged into the water. You will then use the washcloth/sponge to demonstrate to the child how they would clean the toy. Some examples of vocabulary you can use are:

  • Clean
  • Dirty
  • Scrubbing
  • Washing

Another thing you can talk about is what happens when you put soap in the water. When you mix the soap and water, bubbles are created. This activity will be a fun activity to do outside since warmer weather is coming.

Please note: when doing activities with water, please make sure that you are supervising your children.

Painting with household items: Want to do something different with paint? One fun thing we try to do at the center is paint with different sensory objects to give children different experiences. For this activity you will need:

This activity is a fun activity you can do that enhances both fine motor (little muscles) and gross motor (large muscles). Below is a picture of what you can do!

As always, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions you might have. If there is anything specific that you would like for us to help with, please let us know!

Have a great day,

Emilly, Ecila, Pam & Eisa!
