New Friends:
We hope everyone had a wonderful as well as safe holidays and rest. We understand it has been very cold and stressful recently. It has been amazing to welcome all of our returning friends, in addition to some of our new ones. We have three new friends to be exact. The transition back to the classroom has been smooth and fun one at that. The children have been loving our new dramatic play area which is an animal hospital, a sensory box, puzzles, books, zoo animals, and many other toys.
New Teachers:
There are two lead teachers that includes Melissa and myself (Noah). We also have Reethu, Caroline, Grace, and Brianna as student workers who we are grateful to have. This semester our classroom has once again become a practicum room. This means that we are excited to welcome three new student teachers, Nick, Ellie, and Anahi. You will see them on a daily basis acting similarly to Melissa and I (Noah). They will be building relationships with the children through play, conversation, and other interactions. Our new teachers will do their best to provide safety and comfort for the children. You can look forward to learning more about them as well as your child as when you speak with them in the morning and afternoons during drop-off and pickup.
Winter Fun:
Over the last couple weeks, the weather hasn’t been as cooperative as we would have liked. We only have been outside for a handful of times, which the children have greatly appreciated being given time to play in the winter wonderland out there. Cold or not, many of our friends haven’t been afraid to eat, build, and throw the snow with their bare hands to which we encourage to put their gloves back on to stay warm. Fortunately, we were able to bring some snow inside for our friends to play with in the meantime until we can go back outside.
Art Section:
We hope there’s enough space on the wall or your refrigerator at home because the children have been working hard creating cool and fun artwork for their families. Our friends last week made books some with their families in it and others with ABC’s. We have a lot of new art supplies for the children such as smelly markers, neon pens, and wacky stickers.
Dramatic Play Section:
I am excited to announce that we have many future doctors and veterinarians in our classroom. The children have been taking care of many different animals big and small such as dogs, cats, mice, and a monkey. Our friends have made sure that the animals are well fed, kept up with shots as well as medicine, and to wrap up their bumps and bruises. Everyone in the classroom is very eager to help and learn in and out of the animal hospital throughout our days in the classroom.
