Introduction
Greetings Pre-3 Families! It is so hard to believe that we are already in the month of December already. We hope you had a wonderful holiday with family and friends. We wanted to thank all of you for taking time to meet with us for Parent/Teacher conferences! It was great to be able to meet and talk with all of you! Just as a reminder, the last day of the fall semester is on Friday December 9, 2022. Also, starting on Monday December 12, we will be in our interim period will be from December 12-15, December 19-21, and January 3-12.
Sensory
The children in our classroom love to participate in many activities that targets the use of their senses. This month we introduced red, yellow and blue Floam. The children were excited to be able to have new material to roll, press into and manipulate. We also made a fresh batch of orange play dough with some pumpkin spice extract. The children pretended to make donuts, pancakes, cookies, etc. You can get creative with it by adding many colors of food coloring, essential oils or extracts for a scent, etc. We have also use Orbeez, Mr. Bubbles foam and bubble bath, etc. We look forward to trying more activities that involve sensory learning as our kids really seem to enjoy it. Art
The children have been very interested in making and creating art throughout the day. We have several materials offered throughout the day on a daily basis that the children can use. One of the new things we have added include foam stickers with animals on it and shape stickers. The children are working on their fine motor skills by removing the paper from the back of the sticker in order to place it on their paper. They have been interested in making art at the easel too! We have had crayons, collage materials, glue, etc.
New Materials
During the course of the next few weeks we will be rearranging our classroom and bringing in new materials based on the interests of the children. We have noticed that the children have been particularly interested in the doctor’s office as they have been pretending to be doctors to help our baby dolls and their ailments. We will be making changes to our dramatic play area to a doctor’s office to meet their interest. We will also be making changes to different areas like the science area and to the block area to help build on their creativity!

- The last day of the Fall 2022 semester is Friday December 9, 2022
- Interim will start on Monday December 12. The interim dates are December 12-15, December 19-21, and January 3-12.
- The Spring semester will start on January 12, 2023.
- As a friendly reminder, please make sure you leave all outside food at home as we have allergies not only in our classroom but center wide. Children can eat any outside snacks at home or in the car.
