Hello Pre-4 Families,
What a wonderful January it has been! There have been a lot of changes in our Pre-4 classroom. We welcomed Elana along with three practicum students-Hannah, Malika, and Shea!
Our classroom is running very smoothly as we continue to follow our center-wide expectations- We take care of ourselves, take care of each other, and take care of our things. We had added many new routines to our daily schedule, including our morning routine, bathroom routine, group time routine, and lunch time routine, etc. We have implemented a bracelet system where the children must choose an area and save a place to explore. This helps to manage and control the number of children in each center and at the same time allows children to have ownership in their play.
We continue to stress the use of “green” choices to help children with their social-emotional growth. It teaches Children the expected behaviors in our classroom. We give clear and consistent expectations in a positive manner.
The children appear to be enjoying the new classroom set up. Their favorite areas seem to be the dramatic play camp site, the group time area with space to move and dance, and sensory opportunities.
This month we also introduced new friends in the classroom. This allowed us to connect with others and create new friendships within our classroom!
Overall, the start of semester is off to a great start. We will continue to grow and learn as the semester goes on!
