We miss all of you so much and are looking forward to the day that we are all back in the classroom together!  Thanks again to everyone that has been able to share pictures and videos of the children we absolutely love them! Hopefully everyone was able to get outside this past weekend to enjoy the beautiful weather. This week we want to start a weekly picture challenge so each week we will post a challenge in the newsletter and at the end of the semester we will create a picture collage with the pictures we receive and hang it in our classroom.

Week of April 6, 2020 picture challenge:

Send us a picture of your child with their favorite animal this can be a toy animal, a pet, or even a picture of your child holding a picture of their favorite animal. We are so excited to see your pictures! Have fun!

Activities

Pop-up paper tunnels

How to make a landscape of Pop-up paper tunnels:

  • Colorful paper, tape (painter’s or masking), small balls, or little toy vehicles
  • Fold tabs on each end of your piece of paper, make arches with the paper, and tape the tabs down on a flat surface to make the tunnel
  • You can connect several tunnels into one long line, arrange the tunnels in circular patterns, or side by side

Fun with Tubes

Here’s what you need to get started:

  • Different sizes of cardboard tubes
  • Different color balls or plastics eggs
  • Stand the carboard tube up straight and demonstrate how to put the ball or plastic egg on top

After you balance all the balls or plastic eggs on all the tubes – Knock them down and started all over!

Image previewPositive Strategies for FamiliesImage preview

  • Give me choices:

Example-Do you want the orange bowl or green bowl?

  • Help me know when something is going to end/change:

Example: Two more minutes until we eat dinner.

  • Use first and then statements:

Example: First read a book then take a nap.

Please do not hesitate to ask if you need anything or have any questions about strategies to use during your daily routine. We miss you all and please stay safe and health.

Sincerely,

Tena, Krysten, Eisa and Ecila
