Happy April from Tods-2
Social-Emotional Development
So many relationships are developing and not just with adults and children
but friendships and interactions between the children! Children are approaching each other to say “Hi” , with eye contact or a child running to another child and just standing in front of them. The children are now connecting emotions with facial expressions with the help of adults in the room these emotional expressions are being labeled and we are seeing the connection happening. If a child is having a difficult time with transitions, we ask another child to help them by holding their hand! It is just so fun to see these emerging connections.
In The Classroom
The children continue to show interest in the Dramatic Play Center. They are setting the
table with dishes, sharing birthday cake and dressing up in dress up clothing, hats, vests or skirts. The block area has been busy with building roads for cars, building blocks so, they can be knocked down which is a super fun activity for Toddlers. The Library always has an emerging reader or readers siting on the couch reading books, or with an adult doing small group reads. The manipulative center has included Color Sort and Pop Trains that were added this month. Group time this month has included Animal Actions, Bean Bag Songs, as well as new books like We All Sing With The Same Voice, and From Head to Toe by Eric Carle.

Our creative activities this month included: Ball Painting, Sticker Box Collage, Painting, Finger Painting and opportunities to use writing tools like crayons and markers! Sensory activities like water play, Mr. Bubbles Foam and playdough too.
