Happy Spring from Tods 2

We are happy that Spring is on its way! We have enjoyed the time spent on the playground and on the short walks we take. The children enjoy riding the bikes and pushing the push toys around on the playground.

The “Week of the Young Child” we did something different each day.

Monday was Music Monday, the children got a chance to decorate their marching band hats. During our marching band performance in the classroom they had it on.

Tuesday was Tasty Tuesday, the children did not get the chance to help but they did really enjoy watching and eating the fruit smoothies (Bananas, strawberries, yogurt, and a little bit of milk) during our afternoon snack!

Wednesday was Work Together Wednesday the children got a chance to help work together to make our horse for hobby horse race.

Thursday was Artsy Thursday we tipped over our table to let the children paint on the big paper we also offered them other art activities.

Friday was Family Friday we had virtual readers in our classroom from one of our parents. We want to give huge shout out to all the families who made us feel so special during the “Week of the Young Child.”

Social-Emotional Development

We are still noticing relationships are developing and with children and adults. Continue helping assist the children with enter play with others. We continue to remind the children to say Hey when the are running to approach each other. Continue focus on feelings through books, songs and modeling to help the children on identifying and labeling their own and others feelings. We use the songs and books to have the children connect emotions with facial expressions. We are also working on turn taking.
