We are excited to be starting this new process of communication with our families. First we would like to thank all of our families for all the support and appreciation you give to us each day.

We have been very busy these past few months with letter knowledge, letter sounds and printing skills. To encourage the children we have been doing Jolly Phonics at morning group time. We also have a variety of materials in the writing center to encourage the children to draw, print and be creative. We also have been working on individual books that the children are creating. In these books we take dictation, and show the children that their words can put together a story. During our morning routine the children have been printing their first names in the sign-in book. Some of the children have been working on their last names.

One area the children have shown a great deal of interest is our block area. In this area the children are using their imagination, cooperation, team work, fine motor and gross motor skills. They create fabulous structures. Please check out the pictures below our parent board.

April and I are seeing our hard work in action. The children”s social skills have made tremendous growth this semester. They are able to converse with at least 5 exchanges and can consider each others ideas in their play. We continue to work on empathy skills through modeling, conversations and books.
